Morgan City man charged with obscenity, assault

A 27-year-old Morgan City man was charged with aggravated assault Monday after witnesses told police the man threw rocks at them and exposed himself, Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch said in a news release.
Jesus Lezcano, 27, of Duke Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:46 p.m. Monday for disturbing the peace intoxicated, obscenity and aggravated assault.
Officers responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a Sixth Street residence and were told that a male was using loud and profane language in the front yard.
The witnesses said that Lezcano then exposed his genitals and began to throw rocks at the witnesses, Crouch said. Officers located Lezcano who then fled from officers and was located hiding under a Duke Street residence. Lezcano resisted officers’ attempts to detain him, and was jailed, Crouch said.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Michael A. Pociecha, 46, of Mauldin, was arrested at 6:29 a.m. Monday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and careless operation.
Officers responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Ninth Street and Brashear Avenue. Pociecha, operator of one of the vehicles involved, exhibited signs of impairment. Pociecha refused to take a field sobriety test, Crouch said. He also refused the Intoxilyzer 5000 test and was jailed on $20,000 bail.
—Ryan Delahoussaye, 20, of Onstead Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:11 p.m. Monday on a warrant for theft of a firearm. Detectives located Delahoussaye regarding the theft of a firearm which was reported in July. He was jailed.
—Christopher J. Newsom, 28, of Federal Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:50 p.m. Saturday for careless operation, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and no proof of insurance. Morgan police responded to a traffic crash at Myrtle Street and Victor II Boulevard. Officers discovered that a vehicle driven by Newsom had left the roadway and struck a brick mail box. Newsom was given a field sobriety test, which he did poorly on. He was also given an Intoxilyzer 5000 test, which indicated that Newsom was not impaired by alcoholic beverage. He was transported to Teche Regional Medical Center where he provided officers with a blood and urine test. Those results are pending. Newsom was jailed.
—Christopher L. Grogan, 28, of Duke Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:04 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for resisting an officer, a warrant from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Department for failure to appear for possession of synthetic marijuana, and a warrant for a probation violation. An officer located Grogan at the intersection of Barrow and Third streets in Morgan City. Grogan was jailed.
—Sherry K. Ohmer, 49, of Myrtle Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. Sunday on a warrant for a probation violation, and a warrant for failure to pay a probation fee. Ohmer was transported from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office custody to the Morgan City Police Department and was jailed.
—Anthony C. Gant, 32, of Canary Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:26 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for domestic abuse battery, and a warrant for criminal damage to property. Gant was located at Brownell Homes. The warrant stated that Gant committed a battery on a female during a domestic argument in November. Gant was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 43 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Jonathan Eric Thomas, 20, of the 200 block of Enterprise Street in Patterson, was arrested at 5:30 p.m. Monday for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Schedule II (Vyvanse), possession of Schedule IV (Soma), possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of a drug free zone.
Narcotics detectives observed a vehicle cross the yellow line on U.S. 90 several times. Detectives conducted a traffic stop on Enterprise Street and identified the driver as Thomas. Detectives received consent to search him and his vehicle, locating bags of marijuana, Vyvanse and Soma pills. Detectives also found items of drug paraphernalia consistent with consuming and selling illegal drugs. Thomas was jailed with no bail is set.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Clinton Williams, 49, of the 100 block of Francis Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 8:45 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for operating a vehicle under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. Williams was jailed with no bail set.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:
—Justin Bowyer, 21, of Pharr Street in Berwick, was arrested at 2:41 p.m. Monday on a warrant for simple battery. He was released on $250 bail.
—Lori Ericson, 40, of Russo Street in Berwick, was arrested at 1:38 a.m. Saturday for disturbing the peace intoxicated second offense and was released on $160 bail.
