Morgan City man faces rape, incest charges

An elderly Morgan City man was arrested for the rape and incest of two little girls.
Andrew R. Aucoin, 72, of Bowman Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:42 a.m. Wednesday on warrants charging him with two counts of aggravated rape, two counts of aggravated incest and two counts of oral sexual battery.
Chief Mike Banks said detectives have been investigating the incidents since they were reported in October.
Warrants allege Aucoin had inappropriate sexual contact with two separate female victims who were between 6 and 8 years old at the time of the offenses. The victims eventually reported the incidents to an adult who, in turn, contacted authorities, Banks said.
Aucoin remains jailed with no bail set.
Banks also reported the following arrests:
—Victoria Sibley, 22, of Franklin, was arrested at 10:36 a.m. Wednesday on a hold for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Department for failure to pay restitution. She remained jailed this morning.
—Matthew J. Miller, 20, of General Clark Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:06 a.m. today for theft under $300 and on a warrant for probation violation. Upon searching Miller, the officer discovered that he was in possession of items valued at $8.65, which the officer discovered Miller had just stolen from the pharmacy. Miller remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Christopher Sylvester, 22, of the 1400 block of James Street in Siracusaville, was arrested at 7:13 p.m. Wednesday for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
—Jalen D. Allen, 21, of the 100 block of Little Flower Lane No. 6 in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of MDMA (ecstasy) with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and transactions involving drug proceeds.
Hebert said St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on U.S. 90 in Morgan City. During the traffic stop, detectives located marijuana on a passenger in the vehicle, Sylvester. Detectives developed information regarding illegal drug activity at Allen’s home and received consent to search the residence. There, they located marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy and items of drug paraphernalia, the report stated. Detectives also located $1,787, which was seized pending forfeiture.
Sylvester and Allen remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
—Norris P. Touchet Jr., 42, of St. Martinville, was arrested at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for illegal possession of stolen things. The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a theft of brass fasteners on March 7 from a business in Amelia. Detectives located the stolen items at a local scrap yard and identified the person who sold the brass for scrap as Touchet. The fasteners were recovered. Touchet was located at his residence on the warrant. He is jailed on $2,500 bail.
—Douglas Dilsaver, 31, of the 100 block of Moon Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 1:11 p.m. Wednesday for theft of goods and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. According to store personnel, Dilsaver was seen placing items in an ice chest. He paid for the ice chest but failed to purchase the items inside, the report stated. Dilsaver is jailed with no bail set.
—Rodney Granger, 20, of the 500 block of Verdun Lane in Franklin, was arrested at 6:06 p.m. Wednesday on two warrants, both for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. A deputy responded to a vehicle crash on Duhon Bypass Road in Amelia. During the investigation, the deputy learned that one of the drivers, Granger, held active warrants for his arrest. Granger was released on $669 bail.
—Dawn A. Landry, 39, of Shell Beach Road in Pierre Part, was arrested at 7:38 p.m. Wednesday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. According to store personnel, Landry did not pay for items that she had placed on her person and in a shopping basket before attempting to leave the store. Landry was released on a summons to appear in court.
—Lydia Cruz, 28, of the 900 block of Chestnut Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:23 p.m. Wednesday for simple criminal damage to property. Answering a complaint of a disturbance at a residence on Barrow Street in Amelia, a deputy made contact with Cruz who was involved in an argument with a male. During the argument, Cruz broke a window of the home, the report stated. She remained jailed this morning on $500 bail.
—Sterling A. Scully, 50, of the 1400 block of Lake Palourde Road in Amelia, was arrested at 11:21 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Deputies with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Marine Division patrolling Bayou Boeuf made contact with Scully at the Amelia Boat Landing. He was jailed on $8,357 bail.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the arrest of Joseph C. Pizzuto Jr., 70, of Paradise Lane in Pierre Part at 1:47 p.m. Wednesday for remaining where forbidden. He was arrested in the 900 block of Lia Street in Patterson. Pizzuto was released after posting $217 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
