Morgan City police complaints tally
The Morgan City Police Department responded to 1,411 complaints in September, according to Morgan City Police officials.
Included in the complaints was the investigation of 46 traffic accidents.
The accidents involved no cases of driving while intoxicated, but resulted in nine injuries and no fatalities.
Other charges levied during the month include:
Aggravated flight from an officer, 2; attempted murder, 1; crimes against the elderly, 2; criminal damage to property, 4; criminal trespass, 1; disturbing the peace, 16; driving while intoxicated, 7; fail to appear (bench warrant), 16; hit and run, 2; holds for other departments, 3; introducing contraband in a penal institute, 1; narcotics law violation, 23; obstruction of justice, 2; open container, 2; parole/probation violation, 9; public intimidation, 3; remaining where forbidden, 1; resisting an officer, 6; robbery, 1; simple battery, 4; simple battery on an officer, 4; simple battery domestic, 1; telephone harassment, 3; theft misdemeanor, 1; theft felony, 1; traffic violation, 22; violation of a protective court order, 1; worthless checks, 1.
