Morgan City woman charged in Bayou L’Ourse shooting

A 31-year-old Morgan City woman was charged with aggravated second-battery after she allegedly shot a man Monday in Bayou L’Ourse. Another woman was accused operating a clandestine drug lab in the same investigation.
At about 7 p.m. Monday, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance on Aristile Road in Bayou L’Ourse. While deputies were en route, an additional call came in stating that a man had been shot in the face, according to a news release.
The victim was treated on the scene for a gunshot wound to the face before being transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, the release said. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Robert Martin.
Detectives processed the crime scene for evidence. During the investigation, investigators obtained a search warrant for a residence. During the search of the home in the 200 block of Aristile Road, deputies located drug paraphernalia and a clandestine drug lab, the release said.
Authorities subsequently made two arrests in connection with the investigation.
Frances Boudreaux, 31, of the 100 block of Pond Drive in Morgan City, was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center Tuesday on the charge of aggravated second-degree battery. Her bail was set at $10,000.
Heather Guillory, 35, of the 200 block of Aristile Road in Bayou L’Ourse was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center Tuesday on the charge of creation or operation of a clandestine lab, possession of hydrocodone, possession of marijuana, possession of Xanax and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bail was set at $56,239.
Boudreaux is accused of shooting the victim in the face, Martin said. Guillory was not involved in the shooting, he said. The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing.
