'Operation April Fool' makes 21 arrests; drug investigations began 7 months ago

Twenty-one suspects were booked by Morgan City police on drug charges Friday as part of an investigation into illegal drug activity that began seven months ago and was done with the help of multiple area law enforcement agencies, according to a Morgan City police news release.
The Morgan City Police Department began an investigation seven months ago to curtail the sales of illegal narcotics from the Morgan City area such as cocaine, marijuana, synthetic marijuana along with other controlled substances. The investigation was assisted by the Opelousas Police Department, Vermillion Parish Sheriff's Department, Patterson Police Department, St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department and Franklin Police Department, Morgan City police said.
The investigation resulted in numerous arrest warrants, which were obtained identifying many individuals allegedly involved in the sales of illegal narcotics from the Morgan City area, police said.
Beginning at about 6 a.m. Friday, the Morgan City Police Department with the assistance of the U.S. Marshall's Fugitive Task Force, Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole, St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department, Berwick Police Department, Patterson Police Department, Franklin Police Department and the Louisiana State Police, who also provided air support, began the apprehension of the individuals wanted as a result of the investigation, police said. Suspects were located in various areas throughout St. Mary Parish, extending from Amelia, to Franklin, police said. Some of them were found incarcerated in parish law enforcement jail facilities where they were arrested. All suspects were transported to the Morgan City Police Department and jailed.
The Morgan City Police Department will continue to actively investigate complaints involving illegal narcotics in the Morgan City area and urge citizen involvement in discouraging such activity in their neighborhoods by contacting the Morgan City Police Department @ 985-380-4605, 911 or your local law enforcement agency.Those persons identified and apprehended include the following:
—Dedric D. Jones, 39, of Oak Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:37 a.m. Friday on warrants charging him with distribution of Schedule II crack cocaine and violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance law (school cone)
—Tiffany Randolph, 26, of River Road in Berwick, was arrested at 9:50 a.m. Friday on warrant charging her with principal to distribution of synthetic marijuana, possession of Schedule I marijuana third offense and illegal use of controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile.
—Ronald J. Barrow Sr., 61, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:59 a.m. Friday on warrants charging him with distribution of Schedule II crack cocaine and violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance law (school zone).
—Ronald J. Barrow Jr., 40, of Guzzetta Drive in Berwick, was arrested at 7:02 a.m. Friday on a warrant charging him with distribution of Schedule II oxycodone.
—Devine M. Henyard, 36, of Terrebonne Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:19 a.m. Friday on warrants charging her with sale, distribution or possession of a Legend Drug without a prescription (Flexaril), violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance law (school zone).
—Anthony Harris, 19, of Morgan City, was arrested at 7:52 a.m. Friday on warrants charging him with two counts of distribution of Schedule II crack cocaine, distribution of Schedule I marijuana, violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance law (school zone) and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
—Joshua Johnson, 29, of Clements Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:26 a.m. Friday on a warrant charging him with three counts of distribution of Schedule II crack cocaine and three counts of violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance law-school zone.
—Raymond C. Soumellian Jr., 52, of Arenz Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:30 a.m. Friday on a warrant charging him with distribution of Schedule II crack cocaine.
—Taj M. Broussard, 18, of Texas Street in Lafayette, was arrested at 1:53 p.m. Friday on warrant charging him with violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance law (school zone) and four counts of distribution of Schedule II crack cocaine.
—Natalie L. Legnon, 25, of Honey Lane in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:41 a.m. Friday on a warrant charging her with principal to distribution of Schedule II hydrocodone.
—Theresa Bland, 45, of Cypress Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:16 a.m. Friday on warrants charging her with distribution of Schedule IV Tramadol and illegal use of a controlled drug in the presence of persons under the age of 17.
—Alvin J. Francois, 43, of Everett Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:47 a.m. Friday on a warrant charging him with distribution of Schedule II crack cocaine.
—Wayne Singleton, 52, of 11th Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7 a.m. Friday on warrants charging him with distribution of Schedule II crack cocaine, violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone) and on a hold for probation and parole.
—Randall M. Lejeune, 53, of Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 1:12 p.m. Friday on a warrant charging him with distribution of Schedule II crack cocaine
—Dana T. Cross, 23, of Harry D. Street in Patterson, was arrested at 8:23 a.m. Friday on a warrant charging him with distribution of Schedule II hydrocodone.
—Joshua D. Robertson, 23, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:26 p.m. Friday on a warrant charging him with four counts of distribution of Schedule II crack cocaine.
—Elton D. Jones Jr., 24, of Arizona Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:27 p.m. Friday on warrants charging him with possession of Schedule I marijuana and violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone).
—Travis Hayes, 36, of Federal Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:17 p.m. Friday on warrants charging him with improper lane usage, failure to signal lane change and possession of Schedule II cocaine third offense.
—Dwayne Clark, 43, of Lenny Lane in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:19 p.m. Friday on a warrant charging him with possession of Schedule II cocaine third offense.
—Lashondra Watkins, 23, of Brashear Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:27 a.m. Friday charging him with possession of Schedule I marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstruction of justice.
Watkins was arrested at a Brashear Avenue location after investigators traveled to that location in search of a wanted suspect. Watkins was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and was also accused of attempting to destroy evidence upon officers arrival. She was jailed.
—A male juvenile, 16, of Morgan City, was arrested at 11:12 a.m. Friday on warrants charging him with distribution of Schedule II cocaine and violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance law (school zone).
