Patterson man arrested on domestic battery warrant

Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:  
—Cornelius James Gant Jr., 56, of Cleveland Street in Patterson, was arrested at 7:45 a.m. Thursday on a warrant for simple battery domestic abuse.
Gant was located at the Patterson Police Department where he was placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant for Morgan City police for domestic abuse battery. Gant was taken to the Morgan City Police Department where he remains.
—Kathy E. Schaub, 32, of Patton Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:23 a.m. Thursday for speeding and driving under suspension.
An officer working radar in the school zone surrounding the Morgan City Junior High School stopped a vehicle exceeding the speed limit. The driver, Schaub, was found to be operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. She was taken to the Morgan City Police Department and held.
—Markita Lashay Jones, 23, of Duke Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:28 p.m. Thursday for speeding, no driver’s license, on a warrant for failure to appear disturbing the peace by fighting, and failure to appear for possession of marijuana.
An officer patrolling the school zone area near the Morgan City Junior High School observed a vehicle speeding in the area. The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Jones. She was found to be operating a vehicle with no driver’s license. She was also found to be a wanted person with the Morgan City Police Department. She was taken to the Morgan City Police Department and held.
—Bethany Nicole Mecom, 21, of Franklin Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:26 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear for arraignment and a probation violation/ warrant from St. Mary Parish for possession of marijuana.
Mecom was located at the Berwick Police Department and arrested on the warrants.
She was taken to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and remains in jail on $10,000 cash bail.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Milton Boudreaux Jr., 48, of the 3000 block of Lizabeth Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:59 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of synthetic cannabinoids with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Boudreaux was located at the parish courthouse in Franklin on the warrant. He was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
—Sarah E. Lombes, 30, of the 200 block of Southwest Boulevard in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:41 p.m. Thursday for headlights required and possession of Schedule II (Percocet).
—Gene A. Griffin, 59, of the 700 block of N. Bayou Road in Golden Meadow, was arrested at 11:41 p.m. Thursday for possession of Schedule II (Percocet).
A deputy patrolling the Amelia area saw a vehicle with a faulty headlight on La. 182 and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Lombes, and a passenger, identified as Griffin. During the stop, the deputy received consent to search the vehicle from Lombes and located a dozen Percocet pills, Hebert said. Through further investigation, the deputy learned that Griffin gave Lombes the drug. Griffin and Lombes were taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
—Derick Paul Hebert, 32, of the 1600 block of Saturn Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 9:20 a.m. Thursday for distribution of Schedule III (Lortab) and possession of a legend drug (Flexeril) without a prescription.
—Bernie Joseph Metrejean Sr., 39, of the 1900 block of Duhon Boulevard in Amelia, was arrested at 9:20 a.m. Thursday for distribution of Schedule III (Lortab) and possession of Schedule III (Lortab) with intent to distribute.
Narcotics detectives conducted an investigation on La. 182 in Berwick and located Lortab and Flexeril pills. During the investigation, detectives witnessed a drug transaction at a nearby business where Hebert distributed the pills to Metrejean. It was also learned that Metrejean distributed pills to another subject at the same location. Hebert and Metrejean were taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
