Patterson man booked on carnal knowledge charge

A 26-year-old Patterson man was booked into jail Wednesday and charged with carnal knowledge of a juvenile, Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle said in a news release.
—Michael Talbert, 26, of the 800 block of Tall Timber Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 10:48 p.m. Wednesday on the charge of carnal knowledge of a juvenile. Talbert remains in jail with no bail set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 39 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—A juvenile male, 15, of Jeanerette, at 9:04 a.m. Wednesday for battery of a school teacher.
A school resource officer responded to a complaint of a possible battery at the St. Mary Parish Alternative Program school in Verdunville. During the investigation, the deputy learned that the juvenile punched a teacher in the face, Hebert said. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
—Johnny Freeman, 64, of the 200 block of La. 87 in Franklin, at 11:13 a.m. Wednesday on the charges of driving under suspension and speeding.
A deputy on patrol in Four Corners observed a vehicle traveling 45 mph in a 25 mph zone and conducted a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the driver, Freeman, the deputy discovered that he was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. Freeman was released on a summons to appear in court May 4.
—Dean J. Beranek, 30, of the 100 block of Burchfield Lane in Berwick, at 11:13 a.m. Wednesday on a Morgan City Police Department warrant charging him with violation of a protective order.
A deputy made contact with Beranek at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office headquarters in Franklin and located the active warrant for his arrest. No bail is set.
—Corey A. Mire, 27, of the 100 block of Kellers Lane in Franklin, at 6:54 p.m. Wednesday on warrants charging him with resisting an officer, failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family and failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license and failure to honor written promise to appear.
The warrant for resisting an officer was issued after Mire fled from a deputy who attempted to serve the warrants on Mire last week at a location in Amelia. On Wednesday evening, a deputy located Mire at a residence on Kellers Lane and transported him to the parish jail. Bail is set at $6,510.65.
—A juvenile male, 13, of Amelia, at 10:08 p.m. Wednesday for criminal damage to property.
While responding to a report of an ungovernable juvenile, a deputy collected evidence that the juvenile broke a female victim’s pair of glasses. Following the investigation, the juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
—Nancy Salinas, 35, of the 100 block of Martin Lane in Amelia, at 12:53 a.m. today on the charges of disturbing the peace noise and resisting an officer by giving false information.
A deputy responded to a complaint of loud music near Martin Lane in Amelia. The deputy located the source of the loud music and made contact with the resident. During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a correctional officer learned that the resident’s name was Salinas and that she had provided a false name. Bail is set at $1,500.
—Judith Fabre, 23, of the 200 block of Bridge Road in Patterson, at 4:42 a.m. today on the charge of disturbing the peace fighting, a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of failure to stop at a stop sign, operating a vehicle without a driver’s license on person and failure to honor written promise to appear, and a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt, speeding and failure to honor written promise to appear.
—Schyler Stelly, 21, of the 500 block of Gen. Macarthur Street in Morgan City, at 5:16 a.m. today on the charge of disturbing the peace fighting.
—Audry Farria, 25, of the 100 block of Mars Road in Bayou Vista, at 5:16 a.m. today for disturbing the peace (fighting).
Deputies responded to an early morning report of a disturbance on Mars Road in Bayou Vista. Deputies made contact with three subjects, Fabre, Stelly and Farria. During the investigation into the complaint, the deputies learned that a fistic encounter broke out among the three subjects during an argument. All three subjects were transported to the parish jail. During booking, a correctional officer located active warrants for Fabre. Fabre’s bail is set at $1,245. Stelly’s bail is set at $500. No bail is set for Farria.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Donna Reed, 45, of Gen. Patton Street in Morgan City, at 1:41 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failure to appear for theft by shoplifting and on the charges of possession of Clonazepam and entering contraband into a penal facility.
Reed was located by officers at a medical center on La. 70 where she was arrested on an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Reed was transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail, and officers located clonazepam concealed on Reed. Reed was jailed.
—Raphael Valentine, 33, of Aucoin Street in Morgan City, at 7:52 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failure to appear for no seatbelt.
Officers located Valentine on Federal Avenue near Brashear Avenue where he was arrested on an active arrest warrant held by the 16th Judicial Dist. Court. Valentine was jailed.
—Melanie C. Poole, 32, of New Iberia, at 9:54 a.m. Wednesday on the charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Jessica S. Martin, 36, of Mill Road in Patterson, at 9:54 a.m. Wednesday on the charges of expired license plate, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle in the area of Freret Street near Sixth Street with an expired license plate and conducted a traffic stop. The officer identified the driver as Martin and passenger as Poole. The occupants’ behavior during the investigation made officers suspicious that they may be involved in illegal drug activity. Officers searched the vehicle and located suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, which neither Martin nor Poole claimed as theirs. Martin and Poole were jailed.
—Kevin Verret, 35, of Ponchatoula, at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday on the charges of improper tail lighting and driving under suspension.
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle in the area of Belanger Street near Second Street with no brake lights. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, identified as Verret, had a suspended driver’s license. Verret was jailed.
—Tonisheka M. Davis, 33, of Robin Street in Morgan City, at 3:22 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant charging her with contempt of court.
Davis was placed under arrest in the 6th Ward Morgan City Court in regards to an active warrant. Davis was jailed.
—Donald Benoit, 50, of Front Street in Morgan City, at 5:04 p.m. Wednesday on the charge of possession of Alprazolam.
Patrolling officers observed a subject identified as Benoit in the area of Federal Avenue near Oil Tank Alley. Benoit’s behavior made officers suspicious that he may be involved in illegal drug activity. Benoit was found to be in possession suspected Alprazolam and was jailed.
—James Nicholas, 38, of Birch Street in Morgan City, at 1:50 a.m. today on the charges of appearing in public in an intoxicated condition and entering or remaining in places after being forbidden.
An officer responded to a store on La. 182 in regards to an intoxicated person inside who was banned from the property. Officers located the person inside the store and identified him as Nicholas, who appeared intoxicated, Blair said. Officers confirmed that Nicholas had been barred from the store due to a previous similar incident. Nicholas was jailed.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:
—Banning Ohlin, 29, of the 200 block of Belanger Street in Morgan City, at 12:32 a.m. today on the charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, hit and run driving and careless operation of a motor vehicle with a crash. Ohlin was jailed and is still incarcerated.
—Brian Bailey, 41, of the 1500 block of Ohio Street in Morgan City, at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant charging him with failure to appear for loud music. Bail was released on bail.
