Patterson man charged with sexual battery

A 53-year-old man was arrested this morning for sexual battery of a 17-year-old male, Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle said.
Rodriguez Hernandez Humberto, 53, of the 100 block of Main Street in Patterson, was arrested at 2:11 a.m. today for sexual battery. A caller reported that Humberto committed a sexual battery on a 17-year-old male two days ago, LaSalle said. No bail is set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 49 complaints in the parish during a 24-hour period and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Stacey Tabor, 31, of the 700 block of Fourth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:17 p.m. Wednesday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned from store personnel that Tabor was seen concealing items in her purse. The employee also stated that Tabor ate an item without paying for it first. Tabor was released on a summons to appear in court on Jan. 31.
—Tyler Francis, 18, of the 300 block of Venus Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. While assisting the St. Mary Parish Criminal Investigation Division with a case, narcotics division detectives went to the residence and could smell a strong odor of marijuana at a residence in the 300 block of Venus Street in Bayou Vista. Francis was in possession of marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia including a grinder and rolling papers, Hebert said. Francis was released on a summons to appear in court on Jan. 31.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Michael D. Thompson, 19, of Fifth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday for illegal window tint and possession of Schedule 1 (synthetic cannabinoids) second offense.
—Blake S. Lambert, 19, of Franklin Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday for possession of Schedule I (synthetic cannabinoids) second offense.
An officer stopped a vehicle for having illegal window tint. Officers noticed an odor of suspected burning synthetic marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Officers located suspected synthetic marijuana inside the vehicle. Both Thompson and Lambert admitted to officers that they were smoking the suspected synthetic marijuana prior to being stopped, Crouch said. Both were jailed.
—Kirkland D. Craft, 22, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 10 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for theft less than $500 and a warrant for failure to appear for contempt of court.
Craft was arrested by the Lafayette Police Department on the above warrants. Craft was jailed at the Morgan City Police Department.
—Mario Tejera, 29, of Marie Street in Patterson, was arrested at 2:13 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for a probation violation and a warrant for failure to appear for domestic abuse battery. Tejera was jailed.
—Barry Jones, 26, of Ramos Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday for appearing intoxicated in public.
Jones was observed walking on Federal Avenue screaming obscenities. Officers made contact with Jones at which time he continued to yell obscenities. While trying to speak to Jones, officers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage upon his breath and person. Jones was jailed.
—Antoinette Tyler, 21, of Sixth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:46 p.m. Wednesday for simple battery.
Police responded to the 600 Block of Sixth Street in regard to a fight where a person told police Tyler committed a battery on the person. Tyler admitted that she committed the battery and was jailed, Crouch said.
  Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
  —Brandon Gaudet, 23, of Parro Lane in Berwick, was arrested at 1:09 a.m. today on warrants from the St. Mary Parish and Lafourche Parish sheriff’s offices for failure to appear. Gaudet was jailed.
