Pierre Part man arrested for 2nd degree battery, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling

PIERRE PART – A 53-year-old Pierre Part man was charged with second degree battery and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling in connection with a fight in the 100 block of Paul Street in Pierre Part on Tuesday.
Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack identified Ricky Aucoin Sr., of the 300 block of South Bay Road, Pierre Part, as the man arrested.
Aucoin drove to a residence in the 100 block of Paul Street in Pierre Part to fight with the victim, Waguespack said.
Deputies located Aucoin at his residence.
The victim was checked by Acadian ambulance employees for cuts and scratches on his face and neck and deep cuts inside his lower lip but refused treatment, Waguespack said.
The victim was taken to Teche Regional Medical Center by another individual.
Aucoin was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Assumption Community Hospital for evaluation before he was booked into the parish jail, Waguespack said.
Aucoin has been released on $10,000 bail, Waguespack said.
