Police: Contractor took payments but didn’t complete work

A 61-year-old Morgan City man, who was hired as a construction contractor, has been arrested for receiving money but failing to complete the work, Police Chief James Blair said in a news release.
—Sidney Bourque Jr. 61, of Vivian Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Thursday on the charge of contractors, misapplication of payments
Bourque turned himself in to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted into an August incident that alleges that Bourque was hired as a contractor, but never completed the work. Bourque received $1,000 for the work he failed to complete, police said. Bourque was jailed.
—Erick Deleon, 22 years of age, Address- First St. Morgan City, La. was arrested at 4:45 p.m. Thursday on a warrant- charging him with two counts of probation violation.
Deleon was arrested in city court on active warranted. Deleon was jailed.
—Aaron S. Norris, 52, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:40 p.m. Thursday on the charges of no tail lights, driving under suspension and no registration.
A patrol officer in the area of La. 182 near Martin Luther King Boulevard observed a vehicle with improper lighting and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Norris, who had a suspended driver’s license. Norris was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 40 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Shannon C. Conley, 29, of the 600 block of Terrebonne Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:59 p.m. Thursday on 2 warrants for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of probation. A correctional officer transported Conley from the Lafayette Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. No bail is set.
—Scotty J. Adkins, 45, of the 500 block of Roderick Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:10 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of Schedule I drugs. A deputy investigating a traffic crash on U.S. 90 near La. 3211 made contact with Adkins and located the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported Adkins to the parish jail. No bail is set.
—William A. Leblanc, 61, 40103 Lac Couture Drive, Harvey, LA was arrested on November 17, 2016 at 10:52 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. A deputy investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle on Universe Street made contact with Leblanc and located the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported Leblanc to the parish jail. Bail is set at $18,309.10.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Derek Gould Jr., 31, of the 700 block of Versen Street in Berwick, was arrested at 7:24 p.m. Thursday on the charge of driving under suspension. Gould posted $1,000 bail.
