Police: Man broke window, left scene

A 29-year-old Berwick man was charged Tuesday with breaking the window of a Morgan City residence and then leaving the scene, Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Mark Griffin Jr. said in a news release.
Griffin reported the following arrests:
—Stephen Barbour, 29, of Jones Street in Berwick, was arrested at 1:59 a.m. Tuesday on the charge of simple criminal damage to property.
Officers responded to a complaint of damage to property at a residence in the 7100 block of La. 182. Officers arrived and in their investigation learned that Barbour was suspected of breaking a window at that residence then leaving the scene, Griffin said.
Officers searched the area and subsequently located Barbour and obtained evidence linking Barbour with the damage. Barbour was jailed and released after posting cash bail.
—Francis M. Duplechin, 34, of Pine Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:46 a.m. Tuesday on the charge of appearing in public in an intoxicated condition.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Myrtle Street and La. 182 in regard to a disturbance. Officers arrived and located Duplechin in an impaired condition, Griffin said. She was released after posting cash bail.
—Brian K. Kelly, 50, of Grace Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:43 a.m. Tuesday on charges of no headlights and driving under suspension.
An officer observed a vehicle traveling on La. 182 near Redwood Street without proper headlights. The officer stopped the vehicle to speak with the driver, identified as Kelly. Kelly was jailed and released after posting cash bail.
—Robert J. Gussman Jr., 42, of Bush Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday on warrants charging him with failure to pay a fine, failure to pay restitution, failure to pay a fine on the charge of disturbing the peace and contempt of court, failure to pay probation fees and failure to appear for arraignment. Gussman was located at the Morgan City Police Department and jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 37 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrest in east St. Mary Parish:
—Jessica Thompson, 26, of Solar Trailer Park in Thibodaux, was arrested at 2:26 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for probation violation. Thompson turned herself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City. She was jailed with no bail set.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
