Police Reports 2-3-16

Chitimacha Police Chief Hal Hutchinson reported the following arrests:
Gregory Taylor Jr, 46, of Chitimacha Trail, Charenton, was arrested Tuesday on charges of possession of schedule I narcotics in a drug free zone, possession of schedule II narcotics in a drug free zone, possession of drug paraphernalia and forgery under $500. No bond was set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Jimmy McGraw, 37, of 1026 Red Cypress Drive, Patterson, was arrested Tuesday at 11:29 a.m. and charged on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Bail was set at $28,179.
Troy Billiot, 28, of 700 Kim St., Patterson, was arrested Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. and charged on a Houma Police Department warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery. No bail was set.
Seth Matte, 22, of 149 Pine Drive, Morgan City, was arrested Tuesday at 6:31 p.m. and charged on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of failure to honor written promise to appear, direct contempt and speeding. Matte was released on a $380 bail.
Nathan Lovell, III, 22, of 131 Riverview Drive, Patterson, was arrested Tuesday at 8:42 p.m. and charged on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of illegal possession of stolen things. Bail was set at $5,000.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrests:
Leo Gradley III, 18, of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Franklin, was arrested Tuesday at 7:26 p.m. and charged on a warrant dated January 23, 2016, for the charge of disturbing the peace by fighting. Gradley was also charged with possession of schedule I narcotics (marijuana), possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, possession of drug paraphernalia and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Gradley was arrested and held with no bond set.
Jerashalya Kelly, 18, Labau St., Baldwin, was arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of schedule I narcotics (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous in the presence of a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Kelly was also arrested on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court for failure to appear on the traffic violations. Kelly was processed and held with no bond set.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the arrest of Leo Gradley III, 18, of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Franklin, Tuesday at 7:26 p.m. on a warrant charging him with disturbing the peace by fighting. He was also charged at the time of arrest with possession of marijuana, possession in the presence of a juvenile, possession of drug paraphernalia and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
The warrant stems from an incident where Gradley was allegedly involved in a fight at a local restaurant. The additional charges stem from officers reportedly having knowledge of Gradley’s active warrant and making contact with him when they observed Gradley as a passenger in a vehicle. Gradley was exiting the vehicle at a residence on Cayce St. Officers made contact with Gradley and could allegedly smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officers obtained consent to search from the driver of the vehicle and located the narcotics and paraphernalia. Also in the vehicle was a male juvenile, age 16, passenger. No bond was set.
Jerashayla Kelly, 18, of Labau Street, Baldwin, was arrested Tuesday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession in the presence of a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Kelly was also arrested on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court charging her with failure to appear on the traffic violations. Kelly was allegedly the driver of the vehicle Gradley was a passenger in. Officers were given consent to search the vehicle after smelling a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officers allegedly located narcotics and paraphernalia in the vehicle. No bond was set.
