Police Reports 5-12-14

A Bayou Vista man was arrested after agents from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff Narcotics Division raided a suspected meth lab.
Cole Z. Fruge, 30, of 1302 Saturn Road, Bayou Vista, was arrested Saturday at 1:31 p.m. on charges of manufacturing methamphetamines, operation of a clandestine laboratory for the unlawful manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Agents conducted the raid after receiving a report of the suspected lab on Two Sisters Court in Bayou Vista.
During the course of the investigation, narcotics detectives located items consistent with the manufacturing of methamphetamine and identified Fruge as the subject attempting to make meth.
Fruge is being held at the parish jail and bond has not yet been set.
In unrelated activity, Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Charles A. Austin, 49, of 412 Senette St., Centerville, was arrested Friday 11:14 a.m. on two warrants charging him with probation violation. Bond was set at $20,000.
Sandy Berard, 40, of 217 Senette St., Centerville, was arrested Friday at 11:14 a.m. on a warrant for probation violation. Bond was set at $10,000.
Ebony Charles, 26, of 1441 Mitchell St., Franklin, was arrested Friday at 11:07 a.m. on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of simple battery. No bond has been set.
Charlene A. Lawrence, 35, of Jayess, Miss., was arrested Friday at 9 p.m. on charges of theft of goods, possession of oxycodone and possession of drug paraphernalia. No bond is set.
Noble Thomas, 28, of New Orleans, was arrested Saturday at 7:40 p.m. on warrant charges from three different parishes that include failure to register as a sex offender issued by Calcasieu Parish and New Orleans PD; and resisting an officer by flight, speeding, no seat belt, open alcoholic container in a motor vehicle, misuse of a temp tag, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and no driver’s license, Acadia Parish. No bond is set.
Fredis Omar Diaz, 25, of 113 Bailey’s Lane, Amelia, was arrested Sunday at 3:30 a.m. on charges of reckless operation of a vehicle, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, open alcoholic container in a motor vehicle and driving without a license. Bond was set at $1,750.
Justin Osborne, 31, of Linden, Texas was arrested today at 4:45 a.m. on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $3,500.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrests:
Don Verret, 57, of St. Joseph Lane, Franklin, was arrested Friday at 9:31 p.m. on a warrant issued by Third Ward City Court on a charge of disturbing the peace by fighting. He was released after posting a $250 cash bond.
Sedric Edison, 46, of La. 182, Franklin, was arrested Saturday at 2:03 a.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license, no seat belt, no insurance and second-offense, driving while intoxicated. Bond had not been set as of this morning.
Gerald Sophus, 24, of Samuel Street, Franklin, was arrested Sunday at 9:38 a.m. on a warrant charging him with aggravated battery. The arrest stems from an incident on March 21 in which Sophus allegedly hit someone with a bat. Bond had not been set as of this morning.
