Police searching for stabbing suspect

Police are searching for a suspect in the stabbing of another man Thursday afternoon, Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle said this morning.
Police received a call at 1:58 p.m. Thursday from a woman who heard screaming, according to police. Upon arrival at Sugar Ridge Village Apartments, police found a man who had been stabbed severely, and he was transported to Teche Regional Medical Center, Police Chief Patrick LaSalle said.
The stabbing victim told police he would come into the police department to make a statement after he was released from the hospital, but, as of this morning, LaSalle had not seen the victim since the incident, the chief said.
Police are searching for a suspect in the stabbing that LaSalle described as a stocky black man with dreadlocks and tattoos, he said.
The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing, LaSalle said. No further information on the victim’s condition was provided.
