Police: Woman caught driving stolen vehicle

A 22-year-old Morgan City woman was jailed Monday after police found her driving a stolen vehicle in Morgan City, Police Chief James Blair said in a news release.
—Kedesha N. Scott, 22, of Federal Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:10 p.m. Monday on the charge of possession of stolen things.
Officers responded to the area of Federal and Railroad avenues in regard to a vehicle in the area that had previously been reported as stolen. Police arrived and located the described vehicle traveling on Union Street and stopped the vehicle. The driver was identified as Scott. The vehicle was verified as stolen, and Scott was jailed.
Blair reported the following arrests:
—Statey T. Catchings, 50, of South Road in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:48 a.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of speeding and following too closely.
Officers located Catchings at an address on La. 182 near David Drive where she was arrested on active warrants held by the 16th Judicial District Court. Catchings was jailed.
—Anyia A. Francois, 29, of Levee Road in Morgan City, was arrested at 4 p.m. Monday on the charges of criminal mischief.
Officers responded to an address on Brashear Avenue in regard to a call of a hit and run. Police arrived and spoke with the complainant, identified as Francois. Francois reported to officers of a hit and run and provided officers with a license plate of the suspect vehicle.
During an investigation of the incident, officers discovered that the complainant gave them false information and that the complainant was quarreling with the owner of the vehicle. Officers learned that no hit and run had actually occurred. Francois was jailed.
—Craig M. Free, 31, of Third Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:40 p.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of domestic abuse battery and a warrant charging him with contempt of court.
Free was arrested at the police department on city court warrants. Free was jailed.
—Joseph J. Thibodeaux, 19, of West Ibert Street in Franklin, was arrested at 11:35 p.m. Monday on warrants for failure to appear on the charges of improper brake lights and no driver’s license.
Thibodeaux was transported from the Franklin Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department on city court warrants. Thibodeaux was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—David Gordon Goodwin, 32, of Kimberly Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:33 p.m. Monday on the charge of DWI first offense. No bail is set yet.
—Precious Declouet Danos, 43, of Taft Street in Patterson, was arrested at 2:34 a.m. Tuesday on the charge of disturbing the peace by fighting. Danos was jailed on $413 cash bail.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 29 complaints and reported no arrests.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
