Sex offender arrested for failing to notify of address change

A 34-year-old Morgan City woman was arrested Thursday for failing to notify law enforcement of an address change as a sex offender, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
Tanya Lynn Naverre, 34, of the 2400 block of Apple Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:02 a.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure of a sex offender to notify law enforcement of a change of address. Naverre was located on the warrant at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin. In 2003, Naverre was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in St. Mary Parish, Hebert said. Naverre was taken to the parish jail and held.
No bail is set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Janet H. Smith, 47, of the 1400 block of Montagne Street in New Iberia, was arrested at 6:57 p.m. Thursday for theft of goods at at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned from store personnel that Smith was seen taking items from the shelves and concealing them in her purse. Smith was released on a summons to appear in court on Jan. 10.
—Shawn E. McCauley, 36, of the 3100 block of Susan Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:25 p.m. Thursday for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. McCauley was released on a summons to appear in court on Jan. 10.
—Juan Gregory Guerra, 18, of the 1600 block of Victor II Boulevard in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:16 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for obstruction of justice. Guerra was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Michelle L. Lanclos, 27, of Yellow Bayou Road in Franklin, was arrested at 4:19 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear for trial for theft less than $500, and on a hold for the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office.
—Edwin Calloway, 32, of Idaho Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:01 p.m. Thursday for resisting an officer, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and on a warrant for resisting an officer and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
—LeeAnn Jones, 27, of Jones Street in Berwick, was arrested at 8:56 p.m. Thursday for driving under suspension and possession of schedule I MDMA (Ecstasy).

Police conducted a traffic stop on First Street at which time it was found that Jones was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Upon searching the vehicle that Jones was driving, officers located suspected MDMA (Ecstasy) which is a Schedule 1 narcotic. Jones was taken to the Morgan City Police Department and held.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Shane Scott, 30, of Brashear Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:40 p.m. Thursday for no license plate light and driving under suspension.
Police observed a vehicle being driven that did not have a license plate light. Officers conducted a traffic stop and found that Scott was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Scott was taken to the Morgan City Police Department and held.
—Resa Boothe, 47, of Morgan City, was arrested at 10:13 a.m. Wednesday for appearing intoxicated in public and simple battery.
Police were dispatched to a local motel for a disturbance. Upon arrival officers located and spoke to Boothe. It was determined that Boothe was involved in a verbal altercation with another patron at the hotel. Boothe appeared to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage at the time of the complaint. Boothe and the other person involved were advised by officers to go inside for the night.
A few minutes later, police received a second call to the same motel. Upon arrival it was found that Boothe exited her room again and went to the room of another patron and began to cause a disturbance, and committed a battery on the individual, Crouch said. Boothe was taken to Morgan City Police Department and held.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—William Daugherty, 56, of the 1700 block of Fern Street in Patterson, was arrested at 11:48 p.m. Thursday for unlawful purchase of alcoholic beverages on behalf of people under 21. Daugherty is being held on $1,000 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
