A 40-year-old Morgan City man wanted for attempted second degree murder in connection with a Monday shooting that left two people injured is among the new additions to The Daily Review’s St. Mary Parish Most Wanted edition.
Morgan City
New addition Barron F. Kenner, 40, of Morgan City, is wanted by the Morgan City police for attempted second degree murder stemming from Monday’s shooting, Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch said.
Kenner is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 230 pounds.
Detectives investigating the shooting developed evidence which led to getting the arrest warrant.
Two people were injured after gunshots were fired around 10 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Orange Street and Federal Avenue, Crouch said.
One person sustained a non-life threatening wound to his side and was taken to Teche Regional Medical Center, Crouch said. Another suffered a wound to his leg, and was walking out of a convenience store when he was shot according to witnesses, Crouch said.
Police are also looking for three suspects who have been in the Most Wanted edition before.
Paul M. Daigle, 35, is wanted for theft by shoplifting with a value of $450 stemming from an Aug. 13 incident. Daigle is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds, Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch said.
Robert J. Gussman Jr., 40, of Bush Street in Morgan City, who was first featured in June, is wanted for theft more than $500, theft of utilities, and contempt of court/failure to appear to pay fines and failure to appear to provide proof.
Gussman is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.
The theft of utilities charge is due to Gussman illegally hooking up to the city’s electricity at his residence, Crouch said.
The theft of more than $500 charge is from the theft of a lower unit of an outboard motor, Crouch said.
John Joseph Marchetti, who was first featured in April and whose last known address is on Camp Street in New Orleans, is wanted by Morgan City police on an outstanding warrant for two counts of theft more than $500 for a total of $5,600, two counts of bank fraud and two counts of forgery.
Marchetti is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds with brown and gray hair and green eyes. On April 4, the owner of a local company came into the Morgan City Police Department and stated several business checks had been stolen. Morgan City detectives identified Marchetti as cashing two of the stolen checks in the amount of $2,800 each. Marchetti is believed to be homeless and may have changed his appearance since his last known photograph, Crouch said.
Anyone with information on these suspects may call Morgan City police at 985-380-4605 or their local law enforcement agency.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff
The sheriff is still looking for four previously featured suspects.
Reginald Troy Martin, 37, of the 100 block of Pickett Street in Charenton, is wanted on a warrant for felony illegal possession of stolen things. The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of suspicious activity on Chitimacha Trail in Charenton. When detectives arrived, they located a pickup truck that appeared to have been broken into. Further investigation revealed that the truck was stolen in Iberia Parish, according to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert.
Detectives found out that Martin drove the vehicle to the location on Chitimacha Trail and left it there. Martin has fled from deputies in the past and is believed to be evading law enforcement authorities, Hebert said.
