Suspect identified in June 17 Walmart theft

St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office detectives have identified a suspect in a June 17 theft from Walmart in Bayou Vista, according to a news release.
Detectives distributed information regarding a theft at Walmart in Bayou Vista. At 8:30 p.m. June 17, a subject is seen on video surveillance exiting the store with a shopping basket containing several items that were not purchased, the release stated. The stolen items include a pressure washer, car covers, hoses, and fishing poles. The detective assigned to the case received information from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office identifying the suspect as Willie Holmes Jr., 43, of the 200 block of Caprie Court in Houma, the release said.
Holmes is currently incarcerated in Terrebonne Parish on unrelated charges and was identified by a jailer. The detective conducted an interview with Holmes and subsequently obtained a warrant for his arrest on the charge of theft of goods. Holmes remains incarcerated in Terrebonne Parish and will be booked on the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office warrant upon his release.
