Teen accused of having sex with girl, 14

A Morgan City teen was charged Monday for having sex with a 14-year-old girl just two weeks after being charged with the forcible rape of an 18-year-old woman, according to Morgan City Police.
Jacolbi J. Francois, 17, of Cypress Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:39 p.m. Monday for carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
Detectives conducted an investigation of a possible carnal knowledge of a juvenile after a complaint was received on Dec. 29, Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks said in a news release. In that investigation, Francois was identified as the suspect, Banks said. Based upon statements and as a result of the investigation, detectives secured an arrest warrant for Francois for carnal knowledge of a juvenile, a misdemeanor, Banks said.
Francois is accused of having consensual sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old female juvenile, Banks said. Francois was located at his residence and jailed. He was released after posting $25,000.00 bail.
On Dec. 16, Francois was charged with the forcible rape of an 18-year-old woman. On Dec. 16, officers were dispatched to an Apple Street residence in regards to a possible rape that had occurred. Detectives were summoned to the scene to locate an 18- year-old woman who advised that she was raped by force, Banks said.
The victim identified her attacker as Francois, Banks said. The victim received medical treatment at Teche Regional Medical Center, Banks said. Detectives located Francois at his Cypress Street residence and detained him for investigation.
Investigators discovered evidence at Francois’ residence that corroborated the victim’s statements, Banks said. Francois was taken to the police department and interviewed. During the interview, Francois admitted to the encounter and that the victim attempted to resist, Banks said.
