Two adults booked for principal to fights involving juveniles

Staff Report

Morgan City police have arrested two adults in connection with videos of fights posted on YouTube that involved 17 juveniles, Police Chief James Blair said in a news release.
Brodie D. Chapman, 38, of Louisiana Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday on warrants charging him with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, disturbing the peace by loud obscene language and principal to disturbing the peace by fighting.
Theresa O. Coleman, 59, of Louisiana Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7 p.m. Wednesday on warrants charging her with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, disturbing the peace by loud obscene language and principal to disturbing the peace by fighting.
Chapman and Coleman turned themselves in at the Morgan City Police Department in regard to the active arrest warrants. Both suspects posted $2,500 bail.
The warrants stem from a three-month police investigation into alleged videos of fights that were posted on YouTube, Blair said. All videos posted have been removed from the website, he said.
On Tuesday, police announced that they issued arrest warrants for 21 people, including 17 juveniles, believed to be involved in fights in the Morgan City area.
Police recovered evidence of 14 different altercations. Of the 21 people allegedly involved, nine suspects received multiple counts of engaging in such activity, Blair said.
The direct involvement, inciting such activity or the posting of such activity on social media outlets can be a violation of Louisiana law.
Police still have active arrest warrants for the 19 other suspects in the case, Blair said. The investigation into the fight videos is still ongoing, he said.
