Two charged with Morgan City home invasion

Two men were charged with home invasion this morning after forcing their way into a residence in Morgan City, Police Chief James Blair said in a news release.
—Tyler Wilson, 19, of Lafayette, was arrested at 12:25 a.m. today on the charge of home invasion.
—Eric Lynch, 21, of Duson, was arrested at 12:25 a.m. today on the charge of home invasion.
Officers responded to an address on Laurel Street in regards to a report of a disturbance. Officers spoke with two victims who told officers that Wilson and Lynch forced their way into the home and committed a battery on the two victims.
The two suspects then left the residence in a dark-colored vehicle. Officers observed marks consistent with a battery on the victims. Police gave a description of the vehicle to local law enforcement agencies. Berwick police stopped the vehicle, and detained the occupants, Wilson and Lynch. Morgan City police then arrested both Wilson and Lynch.
Blair reported the following arrests:
—Eli H. Fargo, 32, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, at 11:52 a.m. Thursday on the charges of operating an unsafe vehicle on public roadways, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance laws and obscured windshield.
A patrolling officer ob-served a vehicle with a busted windshield traveling on Ninth Street and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Fargo. Officers also noticed the vehicle had several lights missing and no tread on the tires. Fargo’s behavior made officers suspicious that he may be involved in illegal drug activity.
Officers located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Fargo’s possession. The location of the incident was in the area of a local school. Fargo was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
—Billi Driskell, 40, of Park Road in Morgan City, at 1:30 p.m. Thursday on a warrant charging her with two counts domestic abuse battery. Driskell turned herself in to Morgan City police on the warrant and was jailed.
—Bradley S. Williams, 26, of New Iberia, at 2:57 p.m. Thursday on warrants charging him with failure to appear for criminal damage to property, failure to appear for bicycle riding on roadways and bicycle paths, failure to appear for resisting an officer, failure to appear for entering or remaining where forbidden, failure to appear for possession of synthetic marijuana, failure to appear for criminal damage to property and failure to appear for criminal trespassing.
Williams was arrested by the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office in regards to active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police Department. Williams was jailed in Morgan City.
—Patrick L Augman, 41, of Second Street in Morgan City, at 7:15 p.m. Thursday on the charges of theft of goods, resisting an officer with force, disturbing the peace by alarming the public, possession of drug paraphernalia; two 16th Judicial District Court warrants for theft of goods; 16th Judicial District Court warrants for remaining where forbidden and theft; a 6th Ward Morgan City Court warrant for theft of goods and remaining where forbidden; and 32nd Judicial District Court warrant for theft of goods.
Officers responded to a store in regards to a report of a shoplifter. The caller advised that the suspect had placed several items in his jacket and fled the store. Officers located the suspect, Augman, in the area moments later. Augman began running from officers, who chased Augman through several local business parking lots.
Officers were able to capture Augman when he began shouting at officers and using profanity. Several items reported being taken from the store were located on Augman.
A warrants check revealed that there were active arrest warrants for Augman held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court, the 16th Judicial District Court and the 32nd Judicial District Court. Augman was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he refused to cooperate with officers. Augman was eventually booked and remains incarcerated.
—Gilbert C. Howard, 46, of Youngs Road in Morgan City, at 9:25 p.m. Thursday on a warrant charging him with criminal damage to property.
Officers located Howard in the area of Everett Street near Fourth Street at which time he was arrested on an active warrant held by Morgan City police. Howard was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Demetrius R. Green, 27, of the 400 block of Park Street in Patterson, at 11:57 a.m. Thursday on the charge of simple battery involving domestic violence. No bail is set.
—Trisha Mingo, 27, of the 400 block of Park Street in Patterson, at 11:57 a.m. Thursday on the charge of simple battery involving domestic violence. No bail is set.
St. Mary Parish Mark Hebert reported responding to 31 complaints in the parish and reported no arrests in east St. Mary Parish.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
