Woman arrested for stabbing boyfriend

A 45-year-old Pierre Part woman was jailed Tuesday after being accused of stabbing her boyfriend with a kitchen knife during a fight and puncturing his lung, Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack said in a news release.
At 6:42 a.m. Tuesday, the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a man who had been stabbed with a knife, Waguespack said.
Tammy Daley, 45, of the 800 block of N. Belle River Road in Pierre Part, was arrested Tuesday aggravated second degree battery and domestic abuse battery.
Deputies made contact with a 61-year-old man, who was not named, and said the couple had gotten into a fight earlier in the morning and she had picked up a small kitchen knife and stabbed him in the chest, Waguespack said.
Acadian Ambulance transported the victim to Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City where he was admitted due to a punctured lung, Waguespack said. He is still in the hospital as of the time of this release, the sheriff said.
Daley’s bail is set at $30,000. She is also on hold for probation and parole violations due to being on active supervised probation for an aggravated second degree battery conviction in West Baton Rouge Parish.
