Letter: People can 't erase Confederate history

I heard the news of the removal of the Confederate monuments [in New Orleans].
These monuments represent hundreds of thousands of heroes, among them thousands of African-American young men who lost their lives fighting under the Confederate flag, defending the South.
I try to figure out what is going on in the narrow mind of the people who vote for such removal!
History, good or bad, can’t ever be erased.
Ancient or modern history is part of the evolution of humanity. I hope that group of incompetent people reconsider and apologize to all those descending from those heroes.
And by the way, I’m not a politically correct person.
