’Jacks move up in 3A poll

Patterson moved up a spot to No. 8 in the season’s final Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 3A poll.
The Lumberjacks (8-2), who will open the postseason Friday against No. 29 seed Rayville, are receiving 46 points in this week’s poll. Patterson has won eight straight games, including the District 9-3A title with a 45-6 thrashing of Franklin, after starting the season 0-2.
In Class 1A, Central Catholic’s District 7-1A foe Vermilion Catholic (10-0) remained ranked No. 2 in the latest poll. The Screaming Eagles are receiving 108 points.
