’Jacks receiving votes in 3A poll

Patterson High School is receiving votes in the latest Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 3A football polls released this week.
The Lumberjacks, who began the season receiving votes but soon after dropped from the rankings, received four votes in this week’s poll following their victory against Southern Lab. Southern Lab is receiving two votes in Class 1A.
Patterson (3-3), which has won three straight games after starting the season 0-3, will return to action Friday when it begins District 9-3A at home against Donaldsonville.
While no other area teams are receiving recognition in their respective classifications, their district opponents are.
In Class 4A, Morgan City’s District 7-4A foe, South Terrebonne, entered the top 10 this week at No. 10. South Terrebonne (5-1) received 31 votes.
In Class 1A, Central Catholic’s District 7-1A opponent, Vermilion Catholic, retained its ranking from a week ago at No. 3. The Screaming Eagles received 117 points.
Also, Rayne High School, who defeated Morgan City 39-14 a week ago, moved up a spot to No. 8 in the latest Class 4A poll.
St. Thomas More, University Lab and Mangham all retained their No. 1 rankings from a week ago in classes 4A, 3A and 1A, respectively.
