’Jills sweep doubleheader against Donaldsonville

The Patterson Lumberjills picked up a district doubleheader sweep of Donaldsonville at home Tuesday with identical 15-0 wins.
The first District 9-3A game was called after three innings, while the second ended after four, both due to the mercy rule.
Taylor Hall earned the win for the Lumberjills in both contests.
No other individual statistics were available.
Patterson (12-5 overall, 4-2 in district) will return to action Thursday when it hosts E.D. White in a District 9-3A contest set for a 4 p.m.
Central Catholic
rolls past Gueydan
The Central Catholic Lady Eagles continued to dominate District 7-1A competition with a 10-0 win against Gueydan Tuesday in Bayou Vista.
The Lady Eagles plated a run each in the second and third innings before breaking open the game with a five-run fifth and a three-run sixth.
Megan Landry earned the win for the Lady Eagles. In seven innings, she surrendered three hits, walked one and fanned 12.
Landry led the squad at the plate with a 3-for-3 performance with two doubles, while Kimberly Russo was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, three stolen bases and a run. Other top contributors included Gee Garrett, 1-for-3, a home run, two RBIs and a run; Jena Teachman, 1-for-1, an RBI, two stolen bases and a run; Kaitlyn Gros, 1-for-2, a double and a run; Hallie Autin, 1-for-3, a double, two RBIs, a stolen base and two runs; and Bridgette Swan, 1-for-4, an RBI.
Central Catholic (19-3 overall, 8-0) will return to action Thursday with a 6 p.m. contest at home against district foe Highland Baptist.
Morgan City falls
to Ellender
A three-run inning was enough as Ellender topped Morgan City 3-1 in District 7-4A action Tuesday.
While Ellender plated three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, Morgan City responded with a run in the top of the fifth.
Neither team scored again the remainder of the game.
Marilynn Bailey led the Lady Tigers with a 1-for-4 performance with a double and an RBI, while Brandi Ingram was 1-for-3 with a double.
Tyler Hebert suffered the loss. In six innings, she surrendered three runs — one earned — on seven hits with six strikeouts
Morgan City (12-9, 3-2) will return to action Thursday when it hosts South Terrebonne in a District 7-4A contest that will begin at 4 p.m.
Berwick falls
to Vandebilt
The Berwick Lady Panthers fell to Vandebilt Catholic Tuesday 7-1 in Houma.
No individual statistics were available today.
Berwick (10-17) will be on the road again Thursday when it travels to face Ellender in a 4 p.m. contest.
