Augustus, Taylor earn district honors

The Patterson Lumberjacks were well represented on the District 9-3A squad, with a share of the Most Valuable Player Award as well as the Coach of the Year.
Patterson sophomore Nehemiah Augustus was named Co-MVP with Donaldsonville senior Jamal Jones, while Patterson coach Ryan Taylor was named the district’s Coach of the Year.
The Lumberjacks finished its district season as co-champs with Donaldsonville as both recorded 7-1 marks and split their district contests with each other.
Senior Larry Turner also represented Patterson on the first team.
Other Patterson selections included junior Daylon Charlot on the second team, while seniors Dontrell Benjamin and Jedrick Gunner were named honorable mention as well as sophomore Taylan Grogan.
Other first-team selections included Jones, Donaldsonville sophomore Stephen Sullivan and E.D. White senior Logan Sullivan.
