Basile posts win over CHS

CENTERVILLE _ No. 17 seed Basile posted a 64-39 win over No. 16 seed Centerville in the State Class A bi-district basketball playoffs here Thursday at the Centerville High School Gym.
The Basile Lady Cats raced out to a 24-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. Basile went on an 11-6 spurt in the second quarter for a 35-12 advantage. At the end of the third quarter, the Lady Cats held a 58-25 advantage before earning the 64-39 first-round victory.
Allyria Austin led Centerville in scoring with 21 points on seven 2’s, one trey and 4 of 6 free throws. Rylie Candella finished with 13 points on a pair of treys, three deuces and one free throw.
N. Adams led Basile with 28 points.
