Berwick boys bowlers go 2-0

The Berwick High School boys bowling team finished last week 2-0, knocking off E.D. White Feb. 1 and Morgan City Feb. 3.
On Feb. 1, Berwick defeated E.D. White 15-12 at Creole Lanes in Houma.
Aaron Barrilleaux led the squad with a 594 series (202, 199, 193), while Chris Beltran added a 558 series (168, 187, 203) and Mark Lemoine, a 503 series (223)
Other top bowlers included Abram Gilder (185, 152) and Lucas Landry (168, 173).
On Feb. 3, Berwick defeated Morgan City 21.5 to 5.5 at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City.
Mark Lemoine led Berwick with a 689 series (228, 224, 237), while Barrilleaux bowled a 637 series (201, 226, 210).
Other top bowlers included Gilder (201, 182), Beltran (181), Brandon Lemoine (170) and Ian Valdez (178).
Berwick (2-2), which was off this due to the Mardi Gras holiday and has a bye this coming Monday, will return to action Wednesday when it faces Houma Christian in a 3:40 p.m. contest at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City.
Morgan City boys go 0-2
The Morgan City boys bowling team finished 0-2 last week, falling to Houma Christian on Feb. 1 and Berwick on Feb. 3.
On Feb. 1, Morgan City fell to Houma Christian 20-7 at Creole Lanes in Houma.
Hau Vo (169, 174, 193) led Morgan City with a 536 series, while Jayson Hidalgo had a 512 series (165, 160 and 187).
On Feb. 3, Morgan City fell to Berwick 21.5-5.5 at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City.
Zachary Stewart led Morgan City with a 568 series.
Other top bowlers included Zachary Gussman (179, 172), Hidalgo (194), Vo (180) and Jonathan Spinella (176).
Morgan City (1-3), which was off this week due to the Mardi Gras holiday, will return to action Monday when it faces E.D. White at Charlies Lanes in Morgan City. It also will meet Central Catholic Wednesday at Charlie’s Lanes. Both matches are set for 3:40 p.m. starts.

The Morgan City High School girls bowling team finished 2-0 last week with a 23-5-3.5 victory against Houma Christian Monday at Creole Lanes in Houma and a 27-0 victory against Berwick Wednesday at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City.
Against Houma Christian, Meghan Amador led Morgan City with a 594 series (204, 211, 179). Other top bowlers included Ali Tregle 419 series (162), Marissa Davis (184, 177) and Hannah Pipes (150, 171).
On Wednesday, Laura Nolazco bowled a 415 series (158) to lead Morgan City. Other top bowlers included Pipes (207, 179), Amador (152, 176), Marissa Davis (156) and MacKenzie Amador (155).
Morgan City (4-1), which was off this week due to the Mardi Gras holidays, will return to action Monday when it faces E.D. White at Charlie’s Lanes. It also will face Houma Christian Wednesday at Charlie’s Lanes in a 3:40 p.m. contest.

The Berwick Lady Panthers bowling team finished last week with an 0-2 mark, falling to E.D. White 19-8 Feb. 1 at Creole Lanes in Houma and to Morgan City 27-0 on Wednesday at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City.
Against E.D. White, Brianne Toups led Berwick with a 370 series (141, 117, 112), while Micah Lambert recorded a 362 series (114, 119, 129).
Against Morgan City, Shannon Derise led the team with a 379 series (128, 121, 130), while Toups had a 374 series (127, 133, 114).
Berwick (0-5), which was off this week due to the Mardi Gras holiday, will return to action Monday when it meets Houma Christian at Creole Lanes in Houma. It will face E.D. White Wednesday at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City. Both matches are set for 3:40 p.m. starts.

Josh Abney led Central Catholic with a 595 series (183, 208, 204), while Dave Laubach had a 523 series (170, 188, 165).
Other top bowlers included Emily Price (153).
Central Catholic (0-3), which was off this week due to the Mardi Gras Holidays, will return to action Monday when it takes on Houma Christian at Creole Lanes in Houma. On Wednesday, the squad will face Morgan City at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City. Both matches are set for 3:40 p.m. starts.
