Berwick High School sweeps Parish Championships

Berwick High School swept the St. Mary Parish High School Championship Relays team titles April 2 at Geisler Stadium in Berwick.
The Panthers scored 179 points, while the Lady Panthers totaled 175 points.
On the girls side, Ashton Morales of Berwick was the Field MVP, while Berwick’s Kloey Cuvillier was the Track MVP.
Nashaylyn Brown of West St. Mary was the Outstanding Performer.
Morales won the high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 6 inches, was third in the long jump with a mark of 13 feet, 9 inches and won the triple jump with a 30 foot, 9.5-inch effort.
Cuvillier finished second in the 800-meter run at 2:59 and won the 1,600-meter run in 6:52 and the 3,200-meter run in 15:43.
Brown won the 100-meter dash in 12.52 and the 200-meter run in 26.47.
On the boys side, Kenan Jones of Berwick was the Field MVP, Ian Valdez of Berwick was the Track MVP and Kyran Webb of Franklin was the meet’s Outstanding Performer.
Jones won the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 6 inches and the triple jump with 43 foot, 7.5-inch mark.
Valdez finished third in the 800-meter run in 2:17.6, won the 1,600-meter run in 4:59 and the 3,200-meter run in 10:52.
Webb won the 110 meter hurdles in 14.64 and the 300-meter hurdles in 42.59.
