Berwick High School tennis teams beat South Lafourche

PATTERSON — The Berwick tennis teams swept South Lafourche Wednesday with the girls’ winning 5-1 and the boys, 4-2, in action at Kemper Williams Park.
In girls’ singles action, Signe Parsiola beat Crystal Griffin, 8-3, while Jeanne Marie Hidalgo defeated Sabrina Authement, 6-2.
In doubles’ play, Claire Parsiola and Mary Margaret Sanford defeated their opponents, 8-2; Berwick’s Olivia Orlando and Abigail Askew beat a duo from South Lafourche, 8-6; and Maggie Martin and Hannah Walker defeated their doubles’ opponent from Lafourche Parish, 8-6.
Berwick’s lone loss came in doubles’ play where Emma Gray and Allis Armato fell 8-6.
In boys’ singles action, Berwick’s Nate Furlette defeated Terril Pizanna, 8-4; Riley Credeur topped South Lafourche’s Brian Charpentier, 8-1; and Berwick’s Jake Marcel beat Lain McMasters 8-4.
In doubles’ action, Berwick’s Geisler Ibert and Drew Landry defeated their doubles’ opponent 8-6.
Berwick’s losses came in doubles action as Andre Adams and Parker Felterman fell 8-0, while Austin DeHart and Levi Porter fell 8-5.
The Panthers and Lady Panthers will return to action Tuesday when they travel to face Thibodaux in a 2:30 p.m. contest.
