Berwick routs Donaldsonville 18-3

Berwick High School routed Donaldsonville 18-3 in District 9-3A softball action in Berwick Tuesday.
The Lady Panthers scored 16 runs in the first inning.
Donaldsonville plated a run in the second inning and two in the third, while Berwick came back with two in the bottom of the third to end the game.
Berwick had just seven hits in the win and walked 15 times. Donaldsonville committed three errors.
Sydney Aucoin led Berwick with a 2-for-3 performance with a home run, her second in as many days after hitting one in a loss to Cecilia Monday.
Other top hitters for Berwick included Jordan Lipari, 1-for-1, a triple and two RBIs; and Mary Jordan Melancon, 1-for-2, a double and two RBIs.
Rennen DeLatte earned the win for Berwick. In three innings, she surrendered three runs on six hits with one walk and one strikeout.
Berwick (11-12 overall, 2-0 in district) will return to action today when it travels to face Brusly in a 5 p.m. contest. The game is a make-up game from one rained out on March 12.
CCHS run-rules
Ascension Episcopal
Central Catholic run-ruled Ascension Episcopal 13-0 in five innings in District 7-1A action on the road Tuesday.
Central Catholic scored five runs each in the second and third innings, one in the fourth and two in the fifth for the win.
On the mound, Meagan Landry tossed a two hitter with 11 strikeouts in five innings of work.
Offensively, the Lady Eagles pounded out 13 hits included two doubles, a triple and a home run.
Brittany Longman finished 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs, while Brooke Lipari was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, four RBIs and two runs.
Other top offensive contributors included Kaitlyn Gros, 2-for-3, a double, two RBIs and a run; Brandy Landry, 1-for-1, a triple and a run; Jordan Morvant, 1-for-1, an RBI and a run; and Megan Landry, 1-for-3, an RBI.
Central Catholic (13-1, 3-0) will return to action Thursday when it hosts Lafayette Christian in a 4 p.m. contest.
Morgan City falls
to Assumption
Morgan City fell to Assumption, 3-1, in District 7-4A action Thursday.
The Lady Tigers scored their lone run in the bottom of the seventh on a home run and while the team had runners on second and third with two outs, they grounded out to end the ball game.
Morgan City (9-6, 1-1) will return to action today when it hosts Hanson Memorial in a nondistrict contest set for a 6 p.m. start.
Patterson falls
to E.D. White
Patterson suffered an 8-0 setback to E.D. White in District 9-3A action on the road Tuesday.
The Lumberjills (6-10, 1-1) will return to action Thursday when it hosts Berwick in a 4 p.m. contest.
