Berwick snaps losing streak with victory against Jeanerette

Berwick High School snapped a five-game losing skid with a 63-44 victory against Jeanerette in Berwick Tuesday.
No individual stats were available today for the Panthers, who had dropped several close games recently, including overtime losses to Christian Life and Thibodaux and a three-point defeat to Lafayette High.
Berwick (9-7) will return to action Monday when it opens play in North Vermilion’s tournament with a 4:30 p.m. contest against Rayne.
Teurlings edges CCHS
Teurlings Catholic used a big second half to rally and edge Central Catholic, 40-38, in a nondistrict game in Lafayette Tuesday.
While Central Catholic led 18-10 at the half, Teurlings outscored the Eagles 20-12 in the third period to tie the game at 30 after three quarters and held a 10-8 scoring edge in the fourth quarter.
The game was tied at four after a quarter.
Teurlings hit six three-pointers in the win.
Jalen Johnson led Central Catholic with 21 points.
Other scorers included Tanner Wiggins with six; Davidyionne Bias and Elijah Swan, three points apiece; and Blake Byrne, two points.
Central Catholic (2-5) will return to action Monday when it begins play in E.D. White’s Cardinal Classic with a 12:30 p.m. contest against Central Lafourche.
