CCHS and Patterson win on Wednesday

The Central Catholic Eagles run-ruled Gueydan 10-0 in six innings on the road Wednesday.
Blake Hidalgo and Samuel Guarisco combined for a three-hitter on the mound.
In four innings, Hidalgo surrendered two hits, three walks and fanned five, while in two innings of relief, Guarisco gave up one hit and fanned two.
Hidalgo earned the win.
Offensively, Central Catholic scored in every inning, including a three-run fifth inning.
The Eagles had 14 hits, led by Samuel Guarisco’s 3-for-4 performance with a double, an RBI and a run.
Other top hitters included Matthew Barbier, 2-for-3, two doubles, three RBIs and two runs; Thomas Garber, 2-for-3; Gregory Leger, 2-for-4, an RBI and a stolen base; Hidalgo, 2-for-4; and Mitchell Lemoine, 1-for-3, a home run, three RBIs and a run.
While the Gueydan game was moved up a day from Thursday, Central Catholic’s next contest, a road game against Highland Baptist, was moved up two days from Saturday to today.
The Eagles (15-4 overall, 5-1 in district) and the Bears will hit the field today at 3:15 p.m.
Patterson defeats Bonnabel
The Patterson Lumberjacks knocked off Bonnabel 6-0 on the road Wednesday.
In Wednesday’s win, Patterson pitcher Brennan Gouaux tossed a complete-game two-hitter for the victory.
In seven innings, he surrendered four walks and fanned 10.
He also led Patterson at the plate with a 3-for-4 performance with a double, four RBIs, a stolen base and a run.
Other top offensive contributors included Jamey Fabre, 2-for-3, a double and two runs; Tyrik Singleton, 2-for-3, a double; Jake Lagrange, 1-for-2, an RBI and two stolen bases; Kenny Singleton, 1-for-3, a double, a stolen base and a run; and Joel Singleton, 1-for-4, an RBI and a run.
Patterson scored two runs in the first, three more in the third and another in the fourth in the win.
The game was a make-up contest from a rainout last month.
On Tuesday, E.D. White edged Patterson in District 9-3A action.
While E.D. White scored a run apiece in the second and third innings, Patterson responded with two runs in the bottom of the fourth.
E.D. White plated the winning run in the top of the sixth on an error.
While Patterson’s Sirbatian Charles and Jake Lagrange limited E.D. White to just six hits, the Lumberjacks managed just two hits, led by Joel Singleton’s 1-for-2 performance with an RBI.
Kenny Singleton finished 1-for-3 with a double, while Bryce Beaubouef had an RBI in the loss.
On the mound, Charles pitched six innings and surrendered three runs — two earned — on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
In relief, Lagrange pitched an inning and fanned one.
Patterson (11-10 overall, 2-1 in district) will return to action today when it travels to face E.D. White in a 1 p.m. contest.
