CCHS defeats Vandebilt Catholic

The Central Catholic High School Lady Eagles edged Vandebilt Catholic 40-38 in opening day action at the Lady Eagles’ Christmas Classic Monday.
No individual stats were available.
Central Catholic (8-3) will return to action today when it faces Brusly in a 6 p.m. contest.
Patterson girls edge North Vermilion
The Patterson Lumberjills edged North Vermilion 31-29 in the Lumberjills’ District 8-3A opener Friday on the road.
Alex Benjamin led Patterson with 13 points, while Kem Williams and Erykah Singleton each scored nine.
Patterson (4-5 overall, 1-0 in district) will return to action today when it hosts Franklin in a District 8-3A contest set for 5:30 p.m.
Morgan City falls
at Hahnville
The Morgan City Tigers fell to Hahnville 104-81 on the road Monday.
Hahnville pulled away in the second half for the victory.
Hahnville connected on 12 three-pointers in the win, while Morgan City nailed eight.
Ke’sean Francois led Morgan City with 23 points, including four three-pointers.
Other scorers included Taaj Daniels, 19 points (three three-pointers); Makye Richard, 10 points; Jared Singleton, Cedric Gant and Lloyd Singleton, seven points apiece; Kerwin Francois, six points; and Tywan Walker, two points.
Morgan City (9-7) won’t return to action until Jan. 2 when it travels to face Westgate in a 5 p.m. contest.
