CCHS leads area football teams

Central Catholic leads the Tri-City area football teams in the latest official power rankings released by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association today.
The Eagles (4-2) are ranked No. 2 in Division IV (Class 1A select). A week ago, the Eagles routed Hanson Memorial, 51-6. Hanson (4-2) is ranked No. 12 in Division IV.
Patterson (3-3) is the next highest ranked team at No. 16 in Class 3A, while Morgan City (2-4) is ranked No. 39 in Class 4A. Patterson picked up a 40-16 win against Southern Lab (1-5), who is ranked No. 10 in the latest Division IV rankings. Morgan City fell 39-14 to Rayne (5-1), ranked No. 22 in Class 4A.
Berwick (2-4) is ranked No. 44 in Class 3A. The Panthers defeated Class 3A’s No. 50-ranked squad, Franklin (0-6), 23-14 last week.
Madison Prep is ranked No. 1 in Division IV, while Benton and Livonia are the top teams in classes 4A and 3A, respectively.
