CCHS ranked No. 1 in Division IV football

Central Catholic leads area teams in the latest unofficial power rankings released by the LHSAA with a No. 1 ranking in Division IV, which is the select branch of Class 1A.
The Eagles are 2-1 this season and have more than a two-point advantage in power ranking over second-place St. Frederick, who is undefeated at 3-0, according to the Louisiana High School Athletic Association rankings.
Meanwhile, in Class 3A, Patterson (0-3) is ranked No. 13, while Berwick (1-2) is No. 29.
In Class 4A, Morgan City (1-2) is ranked No. 39.
South Terrebonne is Class 4A’s top-ranked squad, while Jennings is No. 1 in Class 3A.
Central Catholic will return to action today when it hosts Highland Baptist, while Patterson will meet Vandebilt Catholic, Berwick will play KIPP Renaissance and Morgan City hosts Livonia.
