Centerville Bulldogs 76-64 over Vermilion Catholic

CENTERVILLE - Jaylon Williams poured in a game-high 38 points, leading the Centerville Bulldogs to a 76-64 District 7-1A victory over the Vermilion Catholic Eagles Tuesday at the Centerville High School Gym.
Williams connected on seven treys and six deuces along with a 5 of 7 night from the line for his game-high 38 points.
Centerville improved to 18-6 overall and 10-3 in 7-1A. Vermilion Catholic is now 13-8 overall and 8-5 in 7-1A.
Centerville will host Highland Baptist on Friday while Vermilion Catholic will host Lafayette Christian.
Centerville went on a 25-15 flurry in the second quarter for a 39-26 advantage. In the second half, Centerville kept the hot hand to pull out the thrilling 76-64 league victory.
Vermilion Catholic was led in scoring by P.Theriot and T. Lane with 16 points apiece.
Centerville’s top scorer Jaylon Williams pumped in a game-high 38 points on 6-2’s, 7-3’s along with 5 of 7 FTs.
Lance Howard canned 20 points, hitting on 4-2’s, 2-3’s and 6 of 9 FTs.
Deandre Kinchen also finished in double digits with 10 points on 5-2’s.
Rounding out the scoring for the Bulldogs were: Landon Lanclos, 1-2, 1-3, 5 points and Tykeith Joseph 1-3, 3 points.
Ceterville made good on 11 of 16 free throws while committing 15 fouls on the night.
