Christian Life defeats Berwick in OT, 53-44

Berwick High School fell to Christian Life Academy 53-44 in overtime Friday in Berwick.
After a back-and-forth second half that was tied at 38 at the end of regulation play, things continued in overtime as Christian Life outscored Berwick 15-6.
While the teams were tied at 6 after the first quarter and Christian Life led 18-17 at the half, the Crusaders outscored Berwick 14-8 in the third period for a 32-25 lead. Berwick came back in the fourth quarter with a 13-6 scoring advantage to force overtime.
Larenz Clark led three Panthers in double figures with 15 points. He added two rebounds, two steals and one block.
Other contributors included Audwin Williams, 11 points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block; Donald Tillman, 10 points, two rebounds, one assist and two steals; Tysin Meads, three points, nine rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block; Travis Whitehead, two points, four rebounds and one assist; Kenan Jones, two points, two rebounds and two blocks; and Silton Span, one point and one steal.
Berwick (8-3) will return to action today when it travels to take on Lutcher in a 7 p.m. contest.
Morgan City finishes 1-2 at East Ascension tourney
The Morgan City Tigers finished 1-2 at the East Ascension tournament, winning its tournament finale after dropping its first two games.
Morgan City defeated Mentorship Academy Saturday, 62-46, after falling to St. Amant, 53-43, Friday and East Ascension, 51-47, Thursday.
No individual stats were available.
Morgan City (6-5) will return to action today when it hosts Teurlings Catholic in a 6 p.m. contest.
