CHS drops league opener to Holden

CENTERVILLE _ Centerville’s Lady Bulldogs drop ped their District 8-B opening 67-35 to the Holden Lady Rockets here Friday at the CHS Gymnasium.
Holden’s Lady Rockets raced out front by a score of 16-2 in the opening quarter before moving to a 37-15 halftime cushion. In the second half, Holden outscored Centerville by a 30-20 margin en route to the victory.
Sydney Hayden and Kaylee Hughes fired in 14 points apiece to propel Holden.
Centerville’s Olivia Thibodeaux led the Lady Bulldogs with 12 points while Nykeytra Kennedy added 10 points. Other top scorers for CHS were: Roshayla Gunner, 5; Rylie Candella, 3; Alyrria Austin, 2; Brittany Grimes, 2 and Hailey McDaniel, 1.
Centerville (7-9) will be at Hosanna Christian on Tuesday.
