Donaldsonville notches win over Franklin

DONALDSONVILLE _ The Donaldsonville Lady Tigers edged past the Franklin Lady Hornets 54-42 Tuesday in the opening of the District 9-3A action here at the DHS Gym.
Donaldsonville opened with a 16-12 lead over Franklin before taking a 32-19 cushion at the half. Donsonville led 46-28 at the end of three quarters before earning the 54-42 win.
Leading scorers for Franklin: Fabian Small, 11 points on 5 field goals and 1 of 6 free throws; Wynesha Jenkins, 11 points on 5 field goals and 1 of 2 free throws; Chardonnae Parker, 11 points on 5 field goals and 1 of 3 free throws; Kaira Butler, 4 points on 2 field goals; Mai Francis, 3 points on 1 trey and Quanta Jones with 2 points on one field goal.
Franklin is currently 0-1 in district action and 10-11 overall.
The Lady Hornets will travel to play Patterson tonight at 5 p.m.
