Central Catholic, who began substituting reserves in the first quarter, outscored Gueydan 27-0 in the second quarter for a 56-6 halftime lead.

Patterson tops E.D. White
Patterson picked up a District 9-3A win Thursday in Thibodaux with a 62-52 win.
While Patterson led 17-7 after the first quarter and 33-18 at the half, E.D. White outscored the Lumberjacks 33-29 in the second half for the final.
“I was very pleased with the effort the guys played with (Thursday),” Patterson coach Ryan Taylor said. “We did a good job of keeping pressure on them both offensively and defensively. We relaxed a little in the second half and allowed E.D. White to get into a rhythm which caused it to turn into a dogfight at the end. But the guys did a good job of keeping their composure and executing at the end.”
Nehemiah Augustus led Patterson with 15 points, while Dontrell Benjamin scored 14 and Jedric Gunner, 10. Other top contributors included Larry Turner, seven; and Taylan Grogan and Kenneth Washington, six apiece.
Patterson (11-4, 1-1) will return to action today when it hosts Berwick in a district contest. The junior varsity boys’ game has been cancelled, so action will begin with the varsity girls’ contest at 6 p.m. and varsity boys to follow at 7 p.m.
