Frank’s Agency run-rules Bayou Boys 14-2 on Monday
Sirbatian Charles tossed a two-hitter and Frank’s Agency (Patterson) pounded Bayou Boys (South Lafourche) 14-2 in five innings in Swampland League action Monday.
Charles surrendered two runs in his five innings of work.
While the Bayou Boys took a 2-0 lead after their first inning at bat, it would be their only lead of the game as Frank’s Agency responded with 14 unanswered runs.
Frank’s Agency scored two runs in the first, three in the second and nine in the third inning.
Offensively, Lukas Carnley led Frank’s Agency with three hits, while Charles had two hits. Christian Soria, Kenny Singleton Jr., Bryce Beaubouef and Cameron Navarro each had a hit.
Frank’s Agency (3-10) will close its Swampland season today when it hosts the Diamondbacks (Terrebonne). Junior varsity action will begin at 5 p.m. with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
Halimar Shipyard falls in high-scoring contest
Reeco Rental and Supply topped Halimar Shipyard 16-13 in a high-scoring Swampland contest Monday.
The teams combined for 27 hits and eight errors. Reeco Rental outhit Halimar 18-9, while both teams committed four miscues.
Patrick Barron led Halimar with a 3-for-4 performance with a double and four RBIs, while Thomas Garber was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run.
Other contributors for Halimar included Matthew Barbier, 1-for-4, two RBIs and a run; Charlie Barron, 1-for-4, an RBI and a run; Stefano Guarisco, 1-for-4, a stolen base and two runs; Sage Thibodeaux, 1-for-4, two runs; and Mitchell Lemoine and Tony Pennison, each an RBI and a run.
Blake Hidalgo, the first of four Halimar pitchers used, took the loss. In three innings, he surrendered four earned runs on six hits.
Baley Badeaux also saw time on the mound for Halimar. In an inning, he surrendered a hit, a walk and fanned two.
Halimar (9-3) will return to action today when it travels to Houma to take on Robichaux Ford (Vandebilt Catholic) in its regular season finale. The matchup will consist of just a varsity contest at 5 p.m.
Diamondbacks edge
Taco Bell
The Terrebonne High-based Diamondbacks edged Taco Bell (Berwick) 4-3 in Swampland League action in Berwick Monday.
While both teams were tied at 3 entering the seventh inning, the Diamondbacks plated the winning run in the top of the inning.
Taco Bell could not counter in its final at-bat in the bottom of the frame.
Early on, the Diamondbacks took a 3-0 lead after scoring a run in the second and two more in the third.
Taco Bell countered in the bottom of the sixth with its three runs.
Hits were even at six apiece among the teams, while Taco Bell committed three errors.
Brandon Fryou suffered the loss for Taco Bell. In seven innings, he surrendered four runs — one earned — on six hits with five walks and five strikeouts.
Offensively, Justin Morvant finished 2-for-4 to lead Taco Bell, while Neal Theriot Jr. was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Other contributors included Fryou and Cameron Wiley, each 1-for-3; and Bradley Gray, 1-for-4.
In junior varsity action, Taco Bell won 4-3.
Lucas Hatch pitched four innings, while Luke Felterman pitched another inning.
Reed Wiley finished 2-for-2 for Taco Bell, and D.J. Robicheaux was 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Taco Bell (7-6) will return to action today when it travels to Bourg for its regular season finale against South Louisiana Bank. Junior varsity action is set for 3 p.m. with varsity to follow at 5 p.m.
Skipper’s Sporting Goods falls at home
Skipper’s Sporting Goods (Morgan City) fell to South Louisiana Bank (South Terrebonne) 9-0 in Skipper’s Swampland home finale Monday.
No individual stats were available.
Skipper’s (7-6) will return to action today when it plays at the Bayou Boys. Junior varsity action is set for a 5 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
