Franklin Lady Hornets face tough competition

DELCAMBRE _ Franklin went 0-4 in the Delcambre Tournament but played extremely well against some tough competition here over the weekend.
In the first match, Franklin loss to Highland Baptist (25-11, 25-12).
In the second match against Houma Christian, the scores were 25-11 and 25-10.
In the third match, Sacred Heart Academy toppled Franklin by a final score of 25-11 and 25-12.
In the final contest, Iota won over Franklin by 25-8 and 25-6.
Overall stats for the tournament are as follows: Kaira Butler had 6 kills, 2 aces, and 10 digs; Jazmin Byers had 5 kills also, 2 assists, 1 ace, 1 block and 7 digs; Sta’Trail Butler had 2 kills and 2 digs, Christiana Blanks had 22 digs and 3 aces, Ajontae McDaniel had 2 blocks.
Next up for the Lady Hornets will be Berwick on Tuesday at home.
There will be a freshman game starting at 3:30 with JV and Varsity to follow.
Patterson tops WSM
The Patterson Lady Jills topped the West St. Mary Lady Wolfpack in volleyball action last week.
Leading scorers for WSM were: Chyna Druilhet 2 aces, 5 digs; Marlana Wesley, 4 aces, 3 digs, 1 kill, 1 block; Brittany Abraham, 4 aces, 1 dig; Italy Jack, 1 acem 5 digs, 1 kill; Annissa Eugene, 1 dig and Katherine Jones, 1 ace and 1 dig.
