Franklin Lady Hornets nudge past Loreauville

The Franklin Lady Hornets nudged past the Loreauville Lady Tigers 47-42 Tuesday at the FSHS Gym.
Loreauville held a slim 12-11 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Both teams were locked into a 19-19 tie at intermission and a 29-29 knot at the end of the third quarter. Franklin went on an 18-13 run in the fourth quarter to pull out the 47-42 victory.
Leading scorers for the Lady Hornets included: Sta’Trail Butler with 13 points on 3 2-point field goals, 2 3-pointer field goals, and 1 of 2 free throws; Jazmine Byers scored 12 points on 6 field goals while Kenyoda Cormier finished with 10 points on 2 floor shots and 6 of 10 freebies.
Kaira Butler finished with 8 points 3 floor shots and 2 of 5 free throws.
A’aliyah Smith tossed in 4 points on 2 field goals to polish off the Lady Hornets scores.
Shantajha Vital had 22 points for Loreauville on 6 floor shots along with 11 of 17 free throws.
The Lady Hornets will host Terrebonne on Friday at 5:30.
SOUTH LAFOURCHE 82, FRANKLIN 30
The Franklin Lady Hornets dropped an 82-30 decision to South LaFourche Monday at the Franklin High School Gym.
Leading scorers for the Lady Hornets were Kenyoda Cormier with 17 points on 4 2-pointers, 1 3-pointer, and 6 of 7 free throws.
Other top scorers for Franklin were: Kaira Butler, 5; Sta’Trail Butler, 2; Aaliyah Smith, 2; Jazmine Byers, 2 and Jazmin Brent, 2.
Leading scorer for South Lafourche was Traya Bruce with 27 points on 9 treys.
