FSHS Lady Hornets rally by Delcambre
Wynesha Jenkins scored a team-high 17 points, leading the Franklin Lady Hornets to a 50-43 victory over the Delcambre Lady Panthers Friday at the FSHS Gym.
The Franklin Lady Hornets (1-1) used a second half surge to outscore the Lady Panthers.
Delcambre opened with a 12-8 lead in the first quarter before taking a 22-19 edge at the half. In the third quarter, the Franklin Lady Hornets stormed back for a 34-33 cushion. Franklin went on a 16-10 scoring spree during the fourth quarter for a 50-43 victory.
Jenkins led the Lady Hornets in scoring with 17 points on 6 of 11 field goals, 5 of 7 free throws and 5 rebounds. Fabian Small finished with 12 points on three field goals, 5 of 8 free throws, 5 rebounds, one steal and one block. Kaira Butler poured in 11 points on 5 floor shots and 1 of 1 charity shots along with 4 boards, one assist and two steals. Mai Francis recorded 5 points, 2 rebounds, one steal. Quanta Jones finished with 3 points, one rebound, one assist and one steal. Samantha Frederick had 2 points, 3 rebounds and one assist.
The Franklin Lady Hornets will travel to play in the South Lafourche Tournament tonight and Saturday.
