Gouaux tosses 3-hitter as Patterson wins

The Patterson Lumberjacks defeated Buckeye, 3-1, in action played at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field Monday.
Patterson pitcher Brennan Gouaux earned the win on the mound for Patterson as he tossed a complete-game three hitter. In seven innings, he surrendered an unearned run with one walk and fanned four.
Offensively, he finished 2-for-3 with a run.
Patterson never trailed, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first and another in the bottom of the fourth.
Buckeye scored its lone run in the top of the seventh.
Patterson overcame four errors for the victory, while Buckeye stranded eight runners on base in the loss.
Bryce Beaubouef also finished 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Patterson.
The Lumberjacks will return to action today when it makes the short trip to Amelia to face Central Catholic in a 6 p.m. contest.
Morgan City falls to Karr
The Morgan City Tigers fell on the road to Karr, 5-1, in baseball action Monday.
No individual results were available.
Morgan City (4-8) will return to action Thursday when it begins play in New Iberia’s tournament with a 6 p.m. contest against New Iberia.
CCHS schedule changed
Due to expected rain, Central Catholic’s schedule in Ascension Catholic’s tournament has been altered.
The Eagles will play Brusly at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Ascension Catholic at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Dunham at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
