Hanson shuts out Gueydan

The Hanson Memorial Tigers celebrated their Homecoming with a 28-0 District 7-1A victory over the Gueydan Bears Friday at McCloskey Field.
Hanson’s Jeff Soulis _ who scored three touchdowns on runs of 15, 98 and 26 yards _ chalked up 16 carries for 210 yards in the third quarter to lead the Tigers to the 28-0 triumph over Gueydan.
Soulis made his presence felt with HMS starting junior quarterback Bo Barrilleaux out for the season. Soulis scored the Tigers’ first touchdown on a 15-yard run before truding 98 yards on the second score. Soulis added his third touchdown on a 26 yard run, giving the Tigers a 21-0 cushion.
Early in the third quarter, HMS reserve quarterback Britt Young tossed an aerial strike to Royce Norton, sending the Tigers out front by a 28-0 margin.
The Hanson Memorial Tigers (5-2, 2-2) will travel to play Highland Baptist (4-3, 1-2) on Friday in District 7-1A action.
