'Jacks defeat Kaplan

The Patterson Lumberjacks remained perfect in District 8-3A action with a 64-38 victory against Kaplan on the road Monday.
Patterson jumped out to a 22-4 lead after a quarter and extended its lead to 42-15 at the half.
Kaplan trimmed its deficit to 47-30 after three quarters, but Patterson outscored them 17-8 in the final period for the victory.
Taylan Grogan led Patterson with 23 points, while Nehemiah Augustus added 13.
Other Patterson scorers included Kenneth Washington and Tyric Garrett, seven apiece; Jordan Butler, five; Kobe Gray, four; and D.J. Jones and Irvin Celestine, two each.
Patterson (16-4 overall, 7-0 in district) will return to action Friday when it continues District 8-3A play at Berwick.
