Jester's Court eliminates Taco Bell

Jester’s Court eliminated Taco Bell from the Swamp-land baseball playoffs Wednesday, 12-10, in an error-filled slugfest at Ber-wick High.
The teams combined for 22 runs, but just 11 of those were earned. Taco Bell (Berwick) had eight errors, while Jester’s Court (Central Lafourche) committed five miscues.
Offensively, the teams combined for 18 hits.
Taco Bell came into the game seeded No. 2 in Divi-sion A of the Swampland League, while Jester’s Court was the third seed out of Division B.
While Taco Bell took a 1-0 lead after the first inning, Jester’s Court countered with two runs in the top of the second and another in the top of the third for a 3-1 advantage.
Taco Bell took the lead again at 4-3 in the bottom of the third, but Jester’s Court came back with three runs in the top of the fourth.
While Taco Bell trailed 6-5 heading into the top of the sixth, Jester’s Court plated four runs for a 10-5 lead.
Taco Bell countered with three runs in the bottom of the frame for a 10-8 ad-vantage.
Each team scored two runs in the seventh inning.
Patrick Robertson suffered the loss in relief. In one inning of work, he surrendered three runs — two earned — on two hits with three walks and one strikeout.
Andrew Askew started for Taco Bell. In three innings, he surrendered three runs — one earned — on three hits with three walks and four strikeouts.
Offensively, D.J. Ro-bicheaux led Taco Bell with a 2-for-3 performance with an RBI and a stolen base. Other top offensive contributors included Grant Oubre, 1-for-2, a double, an RBI, a stolen base and a run; Cameron Wiley, 1-for-2, two RBIs, a stolen base and two runs; Lucas Hatch, 1-for-4, an RBI and a run; Collin Kulka and Ryan Hover, each with an RBI and a run; and Kyle Pitre, an RBI and a stolen base.
Taco Bell concluded its season with a 9-4 mark.
